This past Saturday at JMU's swimming meet, Alyssa Reed continued to impress as she swam 3 events (50 Butterfly, 50 Backstroke, and 50 Breaststroke) and posted fast enough times in all 3 events to qualify for Nationals! She has now swam fast enough to qualify for Nationals in 5 individual events (after qualifying in the 50 Free and 100 IM back in November), although she will only be able to compete in 4 events per rules of Nationals. She finished 1st in the 50 Backstroke (swimming a 29.26 seconds and beating out 59 other swimmers from schools such as JMU, UVA, Virginia Tech, ECU, Georgetown, CNU, Richmond and others) while breaking the meet record by 0.43 seconds! She finished 3rd in the 50 Butterfly, tying the old meet record of 27.98 seconds. Alyssa finished in 8th in the 50 Breaststroke with a time of 35.07.
